Noble Worlds Press was founded in 2021 by 25-year publishing veteran, Michael E. Penman.

Michael has spent years in senior leadership roles within the industry, as Editorial Director, Art Director, Brand Director, and more. He has collaborated with bestselling authors, major and independent publishing houses, world-renowned scientific organizations, video game developers, and television producers.

Career highlights include:

Edited The Ten Commandments: Still the Best Path to Follow by bestselling author Dennis Prager (for Regnery Publishing).

Edited The Gingerbread House by bestselling author Carin Gerhardsen (for Stockholm Text, now published by Penguin), a Swedish crime novel from the same publisher as Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy.

Co-Edited independent science fiction and fantasy titles including Airfoil: Origins by Steve Rzasa, Heir of Elriyon by K. Michele Moseley, and Life: 15 Short Stories That Honor the Imago Dei (for The Crossover Alliance, now published by Doorway Publishing).

Edited When Does Life Begin? (for Crystal Clear Books), a nonfiction medical science title by neurologist John L. Merritt, MD (Professor of Neurology and Medicine at the University of South Florida) and geneticist John Lawrence Merritt, II, MD (Biochemical and Clinical Genetics Clinician, Teacher, and Researcher; Board Certified in Pediatrics, Clinical Medical Genetics, and Clinical Biochemical Genetics).

Co-Wrote a National Science Foundation grant for a pioneering virtual world concept; co-developed associated game design document with Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin, the creators of the CW TV series, The Outpost.

Wrote a Nintendo Wii/DS adventure game design document for BrandX Games.

Co-Developed an animated television series treatment for PBS/KCTS9.

Wrote Skookum Bluff, a cryptid horror short story for Monsters: The Crossover Alliance Anthology V4.

For nearly a decade, Michael worked with leading scientists to develop innovative educational materials based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) core standards. Project partners included the Smithsonian Institution/National Museum of Natural History, the World Wildlife Fund, the Wildlife Conservation Society, Cornell Labs, the Nature Conservancy, the American Museum of Natural History, Harvard University, Jack Hanna (Director Emeritus, Columbus Zoo), Dennis Schatz (Senior Vice President for Strategic Programs, Pacific Science Center) and Lindsey Carmichael (Forensic Scientist).

Titles he’s prepared have won over 50 industry awards and received endorsements from the likes of Kathy Reichs, PhD (Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina, Forensic Anthropologist, Producer of the Bones TV Series, Bestselling Author of the Temperance Brennan Books), Tippi Hedren (Actress, The Birds; Animal Activist and Founder of the Roar Foundation which supports the Shambala Preserve Animal Sanctuary), Kevin Richardson (The Backstreet Boys), and Wyland (American Artist and Conservationist).

In June of 2021, Michael collaborated with the Norman Rockwell Museum to write The Fine Art of Fantasy, a blog article focusing on the history of the fantasy genre and its struggle for academic and literary legitimacy. (The piece was based on the museum’s latest exhibit: Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration, a first-of-its-kind gallery show featuring 140 works of art by over 100 iconic fantasy artists, including Frank Frazetta, Wayne Barlowe, Julie Bell, Bob Eggleton, Donato Giancola, Greg Hildebrandt, Boris Vallejo, Charles Vess, Michael Whelan, and Alessandra Pisano.)
